Conf. Match 6 - V Team Born Again

Khazboss FC 2-6 V Team Born Again
Scorers:
Evans 1?
Gregory 1?

Another stormy night in Wigan
This looked like a tough game from the off with V Team unbeaten at the top of the table. However it began as a good battle, with neither team scoring for the first 20 minutes but both looking capable. The deadlock was first broken by V Team with the first of a multitude of sloppy passing and defensive errors at the back. V Team began to play a bit dirty, and with the ref giving nothing, Khazboss begasn to lose their cool. Not helped by a disgraseful tackle on Evans, again which got nothing from the ref and may cause the Khazboss medics some concern. However, Khazboss did lose this game themselves with V Team also giving the ball away many times. Khazboss just couldn't put the ball in the net though, and at four-nil down, it was looking like the first game without a goal for Khazboss. An angry lethargy set in with only Charnock, Gregory and John appearing to want to win the game. Eventually, Khazboss managed two goals but still never looked like winning. Only some heroics in the Khazboss goal prevented a heavier defeat.

Verdict:
After the final whistle, Gregory said "Let's get off each others backs and play some football next week" While other work needs to be done, this should be the first lesson.

Conf. Match 5 - Real Mabridge

Khazboss FC 5-5 Real Mabridge
Scorers:
Scott 2
Others...

Battle of the 'Bridge
A bruising encounter between two old adverseries saw the points shared, which was probably a fair reflection of game. Mabridge started of the stronger attacking by fair and foul means, pressing Khazboss into their own half. the pressure soon told when an error by Scott produced the opening goal. The response was good with Khazboss fighting hard and some good skill by Gregory set Scott up to attain for hjis mistake with the first goal. The game continued to be fought hard with the referee perhaps letting to much pass without stopping either team. As Khazboss struggled for possesion and territory it was only due to Charnock, whose return to the goal kept the score to a 2-3 deficit. Mabridge keeping pressure up, forcing defensive errors. Then after one bad challenge too many, the referee sin binned a Real Mabridge player, who had been sinbinned in a previous match against Khazboss. Unfortunately Khazboss couldn't make the Advantage tell and the score didn't change while Real where down to four men. The game continued to be hard fought after the sinbinning but Khazboss seemed to be pushing harder, and as a result, they were not kept in their own half as much. This was just about giving them the edge. Unfortunately as in previous games, sloppy defending and distribution had cost Khazboss dear and with 10 mins to go the score was 5-3 to Mabridge. A goal apiece put this to 6-4 with 5 mins left, but Khazboss never-say-die approach come good and they pulled back the two goals needed to level the score. Finally an outstanding save from Charnock salvaged a deserved point from an entertaining game.
Verdict
Bruising tackles, great goals, outstanding saves. What more could a spectator want?
